The firm represents some of the largest real estate brokerages in Washington. We provide on-call counseling and consultation to our broker clients on all aspects of their business, render assistance in drafting forms and transactional documents, and represent brokers and agents in disputes. We help our clients facilitate transactions and prevent litigation. When lawsuits do occur we handle court and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
The firm also represents real estate licensees in matters before regulatory agencies and professional associations. In addition, several of the firm’s attorneys have been approved by the Washington Department of Licensing to teach continuing education courses for real estate licensees, and are frequent lecturers on agency law, contracts, and other real estate topics.
The firm represents buyers, sellers and property owners in real estate transactions and litigation. Transactions include negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, leases, options, easements, covenants and other documents for residential and commercial properties. Litigation includes purchase and sale disputes, landlord-tenant, adverse possession, quiet title, foreclosure, representation of homeowner’s and condominium associations, construction and development disputes, and other matters.

The firm handles a wide variety of general corporate and commercial matters for individuals and closely held businesses, including formation of corporations, LLCs and partnerships, mergers, purchases and sales of existing businesses, reorganizations, succession planning, contract drafting, creditordebtor counseling and litigation, employment law, trademarks and copyrights, and internet law.

We primarily defend clients who are being sued. We are authorized as errors and omissions defense counsel with many insurance carriers and will submit defense claims for our clients. We also represent plaintiffs in a variety of real estate and commercial matters. The firm maintains a vigorous motions practice directed at obtaining prompt and costeffective resolution of claims. Many of our business clients have adopted a strong antisettlement posture in an effort to discourage nuisance claims. We support this approach and prepare each case for trial.
When our clients direct, we will negotiate settlement terms that minimize litigation expenses and liability exposure. Finally, when appropriate, the firm represents clients in appeals.

The firm provides tax and estate planning services including tax consequences of real estate transactions, purchases and sales of businesses, business reorganizations, business tax audits, and estate planning strategies.
The firm is a member of the Washington Land Title Association, a professional organization comprised of title agents, underwriters, and title insurers in the State of Washington. Members of the firm also speak regularly at continuing legal education seminars for real estate agents, escrow agents, and attorneys on title and escrow issues.
